I only need in app chat and image sending facility. Not all influencers will speak with all brands. Not all brands will speak to all influencers. The number of users will be high but the number of messages between users- brands and influencers will be low. Ie between influencers and brands and not amongst brands or influencers. The graph will be bipartite with conversations happening only between users of the two sides and not amongst users of a side. One side of the market place will have a lot more users (influencers) Hoping for a positive response from the wonderful jitsi community. I have seen multiple open source projects in other domains but not many chat, images and video sharing or Chat+ call + video call. All I can say is that we are managing clusters supporting tens of millions users, millions of active users. Eventually, we would like to enable user to user chat as well, and perhaps turn it into a full scale messaging system. It would greatly benefit the open source community and bring more chat applications beyond the one or two which exist. Having to duplicate all of the customer service functionality in an ejabberd module when it comes out of the box with openfire seems like a bad investment of resources. It shouldn’t take much effort I guess given that most of the tetthing problems have already been solved for in jitsi. It would be a major boon to the ecosystem. Given that it has already solved the video and to a great extent chat problem, if there can be a project- server (java - given that the jitsi project is in java) and client in react js and react native with chat (text, images, video sharing) or chat + voice call + video call. 7.2 9.5 L1 Tigase VS Openfire An XMPP server licensed under the Open Source Apache License. Openfire scaling is proven to many, many thousands of concurrent users. Openfire is generally much easier to setup and maintain than other servers. On the other hand, it will be a commercial feature. I recently came across Jitsi and I find it solves some serious pain points in video and chat space. 7.9 8.9 Tigase VS ejabberd Robust, Ubiquitous and Massively Scalable Messaging Platform (XMPP, MQTT, SIP Server) Clean code begins in your IDE with. Openfire clustering will soon be available and should be far easier to setup than ejabberd clustering. But it is indeed surprising not finding any more chat servers beyond this. However it has only a few active contributors and it can definitely receive more help. I did come across tinode which imo is a very good server and client system. I have been searching online for quite some time now and haven’t come across good open source servers and clients that can handle this use case. This is because most chat api providers are very very expensive for my use case- see below. Interested in getting more pro/cons with vysper in comparison to openfire and tigase as well.I’ve been searching for a good open source pure play chat (text, images, video sharing) or chat + voice call + video call. In general, I"m looking for the best way to implement a simple XMPP server either from scratch or from an already built library/framework in java which leaves a smaller foot print then open fire. Metronome IM - Metronome IM, lightweight xmpp server with advanced microblogging features. I've tried to google reviews on this when compared to other servers, but can't find that much information. When comparing tigase-server and Prosody IM you can also consider the following projects: ejabberd - Robust, Ubiquitous and Massively Scalable Messaging Platform (XMPP, MQTT, SIP Server) Openfire - An XMPP server licensed under the Open Source Apache License. I also looked at apachi mia framework which contains or has an extension module (vysper - XMPP server). I've looked at tigase which is another XMPP server that leaves a smaller footprint. It's really heavy and has a lot of features that aren't necessary for our needs. So currently, open fire is being used in our application. Also learning about XMPP protocol at the moment, so please bear with me if i'm saying something that is naive. I only care about the core features of XMPP (statusing, messaging, group messaging). Accept all microsoft annual stock refreshers Manage preferences. I'm actually trying to find the best way to write a simple XMPP server or find one that leaves a really small foot print. EDIT: Also, if you are looking for XMPP Server (and not service) then give Tigase XMPP Server ( im or with the linux and windows console commands 'dig +short txt xmppconnect.
